Air Holland also anticipates that it will operate additional charter programs and/or ad hoc charters between Amsterdam and other U.S. cities. More specifically, Air Holland's market research has demonstrated a potential demand for additional service between Amsterdam and the New England region, south Florida, and the New Orleans area. Air Holland anticipates that its initial independent U.S. service would operate from Amsterdam to Bangor, Maine in the spring or summer of 1997.

OST-96-1987 / Filed November 25, 1996
Air Holland's initial U.S. service will be operated pursuant to a wet-lease agreement with Icelandair during the period beginning January 3, 1997 and ending March 15, 1997. The first wet-lease flight is scheduled to operate January 3-4, 1997 over a Reykjavik-New York (JFK)-Orlando-Reykjavik routing. Beginning January 6, 1997 through March 15, 1997, Air Holland plans to operate two weekly frequencies between Reykjavik and Orlando and one weekly frequency between Reykjavik and Fort Lauderdale. These flights will be operated on behalf of Icelandair, which is unable to use its own aircraft for this service because of maintenance requirements.

The following answers were filed:
Air Holland will operate flights between Reykjavik and U.S. points including Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and New York (Kennedy) using its B-757-200 aircraft, while Icelandair's own B-757-200 aircraft undergo regular C-check maintenance at Icelandair's maintenance center in Keflavik. During this period, each of Icelandair's B-757 aircraft will be rotated through the C-check process, requiring the aircraft to be taken out of revenue service for an extended period of time.
Answer
of Bangor International Airport
In the spring or summer of 1997 Air Holland plans to start offering charter flights between Amsterdam and the U.S. The carrier has expressed particular interest in providing service to Bangor in order to facilitate eco-tourism excursions to Maine and other parts of New England for travellers from Europe. Bangor is fully supportive of Air Holland's plans to operate to Bangor as a destination, and welcomes the carrier's efforts to bring increased tourism to New England, which is bound to stimulate the economies of New England communities.
