Re:  Objection of Vertex Communications 90-Day EAS Notice of American Eagle Airlines Intent to Terminate Service at Longview, Texas

We respectfully request that the U.S. Department of Transportation deny this request to terminate service. We further request that DOT mandate that a negotiated agreement be reached between American Eagle and Longview/Gregg County officials which would contain a fare structure, flight schedule, and passenger load factor (if achieved) that insures profitability for American Eagle, In addition, a method of monitoring the load factors on a daily basis should be established within the agreement. After a six-month trial period, the status of the plan would be reviewed and modified as necessary.
