United Air Lines, Inc.

OST-99-6262 September 24, 1999 Application for Statement of Authorization U.S.- Australia Codeshare with Ansett International
    Exhibit A:  Codeshare Agreement
    Attachment 1:  Codesharing
    Attachment 1A:  Business Requirements Codeshare
    Attachment 2:  Codeshare Emergency Procedures
    Service List

The U.S. points to which United seeks to code share for Ansett International via the gateways of Los Angeles and San Francisco are consistent with the Australian carrier route of the ASA. That route allows an Australian carrier to offer service to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and three other Mainland U.S. points as nonstop gateways. The other three gateway rover" points are Chicago, Seattle and Dallas/Ft. Worth. Australian carriers are also authorized to serve eight U.S. points on a one-stop basis beyond U.S. gateways. These "one-stop" points include Boston, Portland (OR), Miami, Washington, Las Vegas and San Diego. United also understands that Atlanta is in the process of being included as a "one-stop" point in exchange for Memphis.' All of the U.S. points for which United seeks authority to code share for Ansett International are authorized to be served by an Australian carrier such as Ansett International under the service patterns described herein pursuant to the Australian carrier route of the ASA.

United Air Lines, Inc.

OST-99-6262 October 20, 2000 Application for Amendment of Statement of Authorization U.S.- Australia Codeshare with Ansett International
    Service List

United now requests an amendment of its Statement of Authorization to be able to display Ansett International's code on the flights operated over the following additional routings: (1) beyond the gateway of Los Angeles to Phoenix and San Jose; (2) beyond the gateway of San Francisco to Phoenix. United seeks the additional code share routings to Phoenix and San Jose for the purpose of enabling the United/Ansett International code share to compete more effectively with the code share service of American and Qantas, which now offers code share connections over these routings. United will begin displaying Ansett International's code on these flights in January 2001.

United's present statement of authorization includes authority to display Ansett International's code on United flights between Los Angeles and San Francisco, on the one hand, and Atlanta, on the other. Due to lack of connectivity, that portion of the code share was never implemented. Ansett International has now requested amendment of its exemption to the extent necessary to substitute San Jose for Atlanta as a U.S. code-share point, consistent with the U.S./Australia air services agreement. To the same extent, and consistent with that agreement, United also requests a comparable amendment of its statement of authorization to substitute San Jose for Atlanta as a U.S. point to be served displaying Ansett International's code.

September 24, 2001 Re:  Codeshare Services No Longer in Effect U.S.- Australia Codeshare
    Service List

In accordance with the Department of Transportation's notices issued on October 21, 1999 and November 29, 2000 (OST-99-6262), and on July 7, 1998 (OST-96-1144), granting United Air Lines, Inc., Ansett International Limited, and Kendall Airlines code-share authority to serve points in the United States and Australia and points beyond, United submits this letter as notice that, effective, September 14, 2001, code-share operations among the above named carriers are no longer in effect. Although there is no similar notice requirement applicable to the code-share authorizations issued to Ansett Australia allowing it to display United's code, United is also by this same letter giving notice of its termination of that code share for the Department's administrative convenience.
