Aero Honduras plans to initiate its U.S. scheduled and charter operations with B-727-200 combination aircraft wet leased from a U.S.-flag carrier. Aero Honduras plans to initially operate scheduled combination service from San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa, Honduras to the U.S. point Miami, FL.
All U.S. - Honduras scheduled service between the U.S. and Honduras is currently provided by U.S. or third country flag carriers: American; Continental; TACA (El Salvador); Iberia (Spain); See: OAG Flight Guide, Worldwide Ed., February 2002. Aero Honduras was formed in order to serve as an independent, Honduran-flag, scheduled combination airline operating flights from Honduras to the U.S. Grant of this application is therefore in the public interest.

Pursuant to 49 U.S.C. §40109 and the Economic Regulations of the Department of Transportation, Aero Honduras, S.A. de C.V. hereby submits this Amendment #1 to the February 22, 2002 Application of Aero Honduras for an Exemption from 49 U.S.C. §41301 to the extent necessary to permit Aero Honduras to engage in Honduras-U.S. scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail.

Exemption from 49 U.S.C. 41301 to conduct scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail from points behind Honduras via Honduras and intermediate points to a point or points in the United States, and beyond; and charter foreign air transportation between Honduras and the United States; and other charters pursuant to 14 CFR 212 of the Department's regulations, by wet leasing from authorized air carriers. We are granting Aero Honduras authority to conduct the operations over the routes for which it is licensed by its homeland: San Pedro Sula/Tegucigalpa-Miami. We are also granting the carrier authority to conduct charter operations pursuant to 14 CFR 212 of the Department's regulations. We are deferring action on the remainder of its request.

Application for Renewal of Exemption Authority
Hereby applies for renewal of its Exemption authorizing Sol Air to engage in scheduled combination air transportation on the following routes:
Sol Air has been successfully operating various U.S. ‑ Honduras scheduled combination services using B‑737‑300 and B‑727‑200 aircraft wet leased from a duly authorized and properly supervised carrier pursuant to conditions set on its exemption authority on its authorized routes since commencement of operations in 2002. Sol Air continues to be fit, willing and able to operate the scheduled and charter services referred to herein.
