Complaint for Investigation of American Airlines and JetBlue Alliance DOT-OST-2021-0001 January 12, 2021 Regulations.gov Docket Page Notice On January 10, 2021, the Department signed an agreement with American and JetBlue terminating the Department’s review of the joint venture agreements under 49 USC § 41720 and establishing commitments by American and JetBlue to address competition issues. Under the agreement reached with American and JetBlue, DOT makes clear that it retains its statutory authority, under 49 USC § 41712, to investigate and bring enforcement action for unfair or deceptive practices or unfair methods of competition. The Department will evaluate the record in the docket initiated by Spirit in due course and determine if there is sufficient basis to conclude that an investigation would be in the public interest.
