Aero Contractors, Ltd.

OST-2008-0302 - Exemption - Passenger and Cargo Service

October 2, 2008

Application for an Exemption

Aero Contractors, Ltd. is requesting an exemption from 14 CFR Part 125 based upon the initial Type Certificate for which the airframe was approved under Aero Bulletin 7A. The Douglas DC-3 was modified April 15, 1992 in accordance with Basler Turbo Conversions, Inc. Supplemental Type Certificate number SA4840NM. The incorporation of STC SA4840NM converted this aircraft to a turboprop aircraft, which will require the airframe to comply with 14 CFR Part 125 based on turboprop engines, 6000 pounds of cargo, and 20 or more passengers unless an exemption is granted.

Aero Contractors, Ltd. will operate the aircraft under the rules and regulation of 14 CFR 91 as a passenger and cargo airplane. The aircraft will be maintained in accordance with Aero Contractors, Ltd. AAIP based upon Basler Turbo Conversions' Inspection Program. The airframe will comply with 14 CFR Pan 91 and operate indefinitely with this exemption.
