Application for an Exemption

Applicant seeks a foreign air carrier permit authorizing it to provide charter combination foreign air transportation between the Bahamas and the U.S. Sky Unlimited was formed in order to increase the on-demand charter options in the U.S.-Bahamas passenger and cargo market. Sky Unlimited will therefore enhance the existing charter passenger services by offering passengers and shippers from both the Bahamas and the United States a Bahamas-flag carrier option in this highly-traveled market.

Sky Unlimited plans to initiate U.S. operations with equipment from its fleet of BE-99 and B-1900 aircraft configured with fifteen (15) and nineteen (19) passenger seats, respectively.

The authority granted is set to expire by its own terms August 4, 2005. Sky Unlimited, therefore, requests that its authority to conduct scheduled combination service on this route be extended by a further year.

By letter dated February 10, 2006, we acknowledged Sky Unlimited's name change to Sky Bahamas Airline under Part 215.

By Notice of Action Taken dated July 16, 2010, these charter authorities and SkyBahamas' scheduled authority for the routes indicated in paragraph (i) supra (i.e.: ExumalMarsh HarbourlNew Bight-Ft. Lauderdale/West Palm Beach) were renewed for a period of one year, expiring on July 16, 2011. By a further Notice of Action Taken dated November 18, 2010, SkyBahamas was granted additional scheduled authority for routes indicated in paragraph (ii) supra (Le.: Freeport/Arthur's Town-Ft. LauderdaleIWest Palm Beach) for a period of one year expiring on November 18, 2011. SkyBahamas therefore seeks to renew its exemption authorities granted by both of these NOAT's for a further year.

Application for Renewal of Exemption Authority

Sky Bahamas Airline hereby submits its application for an Exemption to the extent necessary to permit Sky Bahamas to renew its small aircraft exemption authorities permitting:

  1. Scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between: (i) Exuma, Marsh Harbour, and New Bight, Bahamas and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and (ii) Exuma, Marsh Harbour, and New Bight, Bahamas and West Palm Beach, FL;
  2. Scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between: (i) Freeport and Arthur's Town, Bahamas and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and (ii) Freeport and Arthur's Town, Bahamas and West Palm Beach, FL;
  3. Scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between: (i) Nassau, Bahamas and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and (ii) Nassau, Bahamas and West Palm Beach, FL;
  4. Charter foreign air transpmiation of persons, property and mail between a point or points in the Bahamas, on the one hand, and a point or points in the United States, on the other hand;
  5. Scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail between Bimini, Bahamas and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and
  6. Other charters pursuant to Part 212 of the Department's regulations.

By Notice of Action Taken dated June 5, 2017, Sky Bahamas was granted renewal of its scheduled authority for the routes indicated above thus expiring by its own terms on June 16, 2017. Sky Bahamas therefore seeks to renew its exemption authority by this NOAT for a further year.
