Notice Inviting Applications

By this Notice, we invite certificated US air carriers to file applications for the combination frequencies that become available effective October 2010 for scheduled US-Brazil services.

On June 26, 2008, the United States and Brazil reached an ad referendum agreement (the 2008 Agreement) that provided for, among other things, the expansion of scheduled services for combination carriers in four stages concluding in October 2010. By this Notice, we invite applications for the fourth stage of this expansion to allocate the additional combination service opportunities that become available to US carriers in October 2010.

Under the terms of the 2008 Agreement, US carriers may operate an additional 14 weekly combination frequencies to points in Brazil, beginning October 1, 2010. The frequencies at issue here may be used at any points that US carriers may serve, subject to the restriction that these frequencies may not be used at Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport until infrastructure-related constraints at the airport are removed.
