U.S.- France All Cargo Route Opportunities

Undocketed Served April 25, 2001 Notice  U.S.- France All-Cargo Route Opportunities

The 1998 U.S.-France aviation agreement provides, in part, for the expansion of U.S. carrier allcargo services over a five-year transition period, I as follows:

With the exception of the one April 1998 designation for non-Paris services, U.S. carriers designated for all-cargo services may operate from any points in the United States (via intermediate points) to any points in France and beyond. Local traffic rights between France and third countries are subject to certain limitations as detailed in the Agreement.

In May 1998 we authorized United Parcel Service to serve Paris, using one of the two April 1998 opportunities available at that time. We have not yet awarded the non-Paris April 1998 opportunity or the April 2000 opportunity.4 Thus, two service opportunities to provide all-cargo service are available now, and a third opportunity becomes available in April 2002.

By this notice, we invite all U.S. carriers interested in using any of the three remaining available allcargo service opportunities described above to file applications, no later than May 7, 2001.
